OLQP History

Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Southern Alberta) Ltd. is a non-denominational, non-profit organization located in Bragg Creek, Alberta; founded in 1988 with the first event happening in 1989. It was created to enable children 0-18 with physical, mental, financial and/or emotional challenges to have a FREE outdoor ranch experience.

In the early 1990's horseback riding, tractor lead wagon rides, hiking, fishing, canoeing and a BBQ hotdog lunch were added to daily programs. As the Ranch continually endeavored to improve, it developed additional programming areas with equipment such as the fully accessible playground and pontoon boat, swimming dock and teepee's. More recent additions include the OK Corral, Walton Hall, Shower Houses, Trading Post and Westmount Sports Field. Along with these wonderful physical developments OLQP has expanded in programming to include: Residential Summer Camp Program, Weekend Family Camps, Annual Children's Christmas Party, Day Trip Programming, & Off-Seaon Camping.

The Ranch is governed by a small but dedicated volunteer Board of Directors whose vision for the Ranch is of continual growth to further instill confidence, coping skills, self-acceptance and a sense of belonging to the young people of tomorrow.

Since the opening of Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Southern Alberta) Ltd. it has grown to provide 25,000 visitors annually with a unique, educational and fun experience. These numbers will continue to climb rapidly with the opening of the Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (Northern Alberta) Ltd.

OLQP North Ranch is located along the beautiful North Saskatchewan River in NE Edmonton and became operational for Day Trip Programming in July 2009. This facility will continue to grow as the years progress to match the facility quality and accessibility of the Southern Ranch.
